Build Your Tiki Bar is an atmosphere builder. Your budget, space choice, product selections, and related builder preferences are stored in your browser via localStorage under the key build-your-tiki-bar so you can continue on the same device without an account.

If you Accept analytics in the site notice, we load Google Analytics (GA4, measurement ID G-FJZYX0H88F) to measure visits and how people use pages. Google may set cookies such as _ga and receive usage data (for example pages viewed, approximate location, and device/browser details). We do not load that script until you accept. If you Decline, Analytics stays off and the builder still works. Your choice is saved in the same localStorage key so we do not ask again on this device. We do not run third-party advertising pixels on this site.

If you choose Save list or Sign in, we ask for your email address and send a one-time magic link (no password). Clicking that link creates or refreshes an account and sets a first-party session cookie (bytb_session) so you stay signed in. While signed in, we store on our servers (MySQL on our host): named shopping lists (budget, space, selected products), recipe favorites, album favorites, guide favorites, and recipe star ratings tied to your account. We use your email for authentication and account recovery only—not for marketing emails. Sign-in mail is sent from our own mailbox on this host (typically no-reply@buildyourtikibar.com, with replies going to contact@).

Sign-in and contact-form requests may include a Cloudflare Turnstile bot check. When that check is active, Cloudflare receives a challenge token and may see your IP address as part of verifying the request. We do not use Turnstile for advertising.

If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email, topic, and message you send so we can respond. Messages are emailed to our contact inbox. We do not use that address for marketing.

If you submit a recipe, we store the recipe content you provide and your account email so we can review it and possibly publish a curated version on the site. Submissions are not published automatically. We may email our contact inbox when a submission arrives.

Affiliate retailer sites may set their own cookies when you leave this site to purchase.

Product links may include Amazon Associates tags and Walmart / Impact publisher parameters. Album pages may include a Buy link when we found a current Amazon listing. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Commissions do not change the price you pay.

Music pages can play a YouTube sample after you press Play. That loads YouTube (Google) in your browser. We do not load YouTube until you choose to play.
